Course Description
This program’s goal is to raise awareness of hazards, regulatory requirements, and best practices related to confined spaces. Students will learn how to classify different spaces and review specific scenarios to determine potential hazards and appropriate controls.
This course is an elective course that can help fulfill the requirement for an individual applying for a Site Safety Training Card. This is an awareness-level training only and does not provide any other qualification or authorization outside of the Site Safety Training Card.
The course fee does not include the cost of an SST Card

Upon completion of this course, students will be able to…
- Identify criteria for confined spaces and permit-required confined spaces including recognizing such
- Become aware of administrative regulatory safety requirements associated with confined spaces.
Technical Requirements
It is required that students complete the training on a desktop or laptop computer with Google Chrome as the browser.
Our Online Safety Training Courses were initially designed to be accessed on desktop computers. While it is not prohibited to use a mobile device, please note that the student experience may be less than optimal.

100% attendance in the course and active participation in all learning activities including a final assessment are required to earn a course completion card.
